For one time only the short film 'Paralysed Mood' documenting the artist Grace Siregar's recent exhibition on the Isle of Bute is getting the big screen treatment! 12:00pm, Saturday 14th September at the Discovery Centre, Rothesay. If you're on Bute and you have spare 15 minutes - (I said it was short) - come along!
'Paralysed Mood' an exhibition by multi-media artist and all round force of nature Grace Siregar opened this weekend (Saturday July 27th) at The Bank of Ideas in Rothesay. Visitors will be treated to a thought-provoking array of installation, painting, video, performance and photographic works. All of these elements combine to provide - “an exploration of the moments of joy and deep fatigue that a nomadic lifestyle can bring”.
Originally from Sumatra, Grace has been crossing continents all her life. From Indonesia to Senegal via Cameroon and the Netherlands, the latest stage of her journey has led Grace and her family to their new home on the Isle of Bute, Scotland.
The exhibition runs until the 17th of August but for those unable to attend the exhibition in person I am currently piecing together a short documentary detailing Grace's work. Meanwhile please take a look at the 'Paralysed Moods' gallery featuring some images captured over the opening weekend here.
